"Confidence does not come from being better than someone else... It comes from being the best you that you can be."
It sounds simple; eye contact, good hand shake, say your name strong and clear! You only have one chance to make a good first impression. It is so important but not as easy as one may think. So, how do you exercise confidence in an industry that you might not be that confident in? Here are my tips:
Be on time.
Dress the part.
Have a winning smile.
Body language. (don't slump or have crossed arms)
No filler words . (ums or likes)
Be open and confident.
Set your intention. As you are driving to your job or audition, think about what kind of interactions you need to have with the casting director or the client. Do some research on the company, client, or casting director. This can be an incredibly grounding experience and works very well to focus on what kind of energy you want to walk in with
Practice makes perfect.
“Walk in the room, knowing that they WANT you to be their choice. And leave that audition with something more important to do that day.”- Carole Kaboya (acting coach)
